Why we exist
Arise and Shine was founded on a simple belief: that a disability should never decide how much of life a person gets to take part in. Every program we run, from early therapy sessions to vocational training, is built around that idea — and around the families in Karur district who trust us with their children's care.

Rooted in community
Arise and Shine is based in S Vellalapatti Post, Karur, but our work rarely stays within those walls. Our team travels to Thanthonimalai and Krishnarayapuram blocks for home visits, community awareness sessions, and screening camps, because we know many families cannot travel regularly for support. Wherever possible, we bring therapy, training, and encouragement to where families already are.
Children and adults come to us with a wide range of needs — autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and specific learning disabilities among them. Whatever the diagnosis, our starting point is always the same: understand the person, involve the family, and build a plan that fits their daily life rather than asking them to fit ours.
Parents, siblings, teachers, therapists, and neighbours all play a part in a child's progress. We see our role as bringing those people together around each child, not replacing any of them.
